Frequent failures of Wyze

Some Wyze security camera owners reported Friday that they were unexpectedly able to see webcam feeds that weren't theirs, meaning that they were unintentionally able to see inside of other people's houses.
A Wyze spokesperson tells The Verge that this was due to a web caching issue.

One of the most common is not having the right bandwidth.
Wyze devices are programmed to run on a 2.
4 GHz WiFi frequency.
Connecting them to a 5 GHz frequency won't work.
If you're encountering software issues, power cycling or rebooting your camera is the easiest fix.

In early 2022, Wyze announced that it had been made aware of a security issue that had been ongoing for three years, and that may have allowed some with malicious intent to gain access to original WyzeCam v1.
When it discovered the flaw, it failed to notify customers, instead choosing to discontinue the camera.

The company did eventually alert customers of the issue, and it notably guided them to stop using the first-generation Wyze Cam because “continued use of the WyzeCam after February 1, 2022 carries increased risk, is discouraged by Wyze, and is entirely at your own risk”—but that was long after the serious vulnerability

Troubleshooting Tips

Problem solved? Still can't connect to Wyze? Continue with Step 2.
Turn it on again. Clear internet cookies and browser cache.
Still stuck and not enjoying Wyze, then go to Step 3.
Temporarily disable your antivirus or firewall running in the background. Now, if you can access Wyze, be informed that your security software is causing problems. Try adding Wyze to the set of trusted sites.
DNS is a service that translates Wyze into a machine-readable address called an IP address. In most cases, this job is done by your ISP. If only specific sites are not opening, it is likely to be corrupted.
