Frequent failures of Looker
“My Looker is slow” Too slow is any dashboard that takes more than a few seconds.
The more Looks (e.
g.
chart) in each dashboard, the more queries to queue up.
In short, each query behind a Look has to be even faster.
Looker has plenty of great options for improving performance.
For queries, the caching mechanism in Looker works as follows: Once a user runs a specific query, the result of that query is cached.
Cache results are stored in an encrypted file on your Looker instance.
To set autorefresh for a dashboard and all its tiles: Enable the Automatically refresh dashboard switch.
Select a refresh frequency to automatically update the dashboard and all its tiles.
To adjust the frequency for any individual tiles, do so in the Tile section, where each tile in the dashboard is listed.
