If Google Sky Map is not moving, make sure Automatic mode is enabled.

Calibration involves moving your phone in a figure-8 motion to trigger your sensors to automatically reset and more accurately align with the position you're holding your phone.
Cause of Failure.
Sky Map came out at the dawn of Android development, back when versions such as Froyo and Gingerbread were brand new.
However, Google failed to update the app's design to match newer OS versions and pretty much ceased development in 2011.
Clear the app's cache & data On your Android phone or tablet, open the Settings app .
Tap Apps & notifications.
Follow the steps on your device to find the Maps app.
After you select the app, storage & cache options should be available.
Calibrate Android GPS Return to the Google Maps app.
Hold the device right-side up, then move it in a figure-8 motion a few times.
The calibration is complete when the beam becomes narrower and points in an accurate direction.
